Your data
Privacy & cookies
This website is operated for Villa Rhodéa, a holiday villa in Ialyssos, Rhodes (Greece). For anything related to your personal data, contact us at info@villarhodea.com.
What we collect and why
When you send a booking request we ask for your name, email address, phone number, travel dates, the composition of your party, any special requests and the extras you select. We use this information solely to handle your request, prepare your booking and communicate with you about your stay (legal basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, and performing that contract).
To protect the booking form against abuse we also record your IP address and browser type with each request, and the date and time you accepted our terms (legal basis: legitimate interest).
We do not use your booking contact details to send marketing messages, and we never sell personal data. Optional website and advertising measurement is described below.
Payments
Deposits and balance payments are handled by Stripe through a secure payment page. Your card or bank details are entered on Stripe’s systems and never pass through this website.
Email and your booking overview
Emails about your request and booking are sent through our transactional email provider. Your confirmation email contains a personal link to an online booking overview; the link is valid for a limited period and should not be shared.
How long we keep your data
Booking records are kept for as long as needed to administer your stay and to meet our legal (including tax) obligations, and are then deleted.
Embedded content from other services
- The contact page embeds a Google Maps map. When that page loads, Google receives your IP address (see Google’s privacy policy).
- The interactive island map uses the Leaflet library and map tiles from CARTO / OpenStreetMap; these services receive your IP address when the map page loads.
Cookies and analytics
You can choose analytics and marketing measurement separately using the cookie banner. Both are optional and off until you select them. You can request a stay without either option. Change or withdraw your choice at any time using “Cookie preferences” in the footer. We remember your choice in your browser for up to 180 days; clearing browser storage may bring the banner back.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics measures public-page visits, availability-link clicks, displayed quotes and received booking requests. We use selected campaign codes and limited quote information, such as the number of nights and guests and the displayed amount. We send a public page address without query details, a generic page title and a limited referral source. We do not send your name, email address, phone number, special requests, exact stay dates or personal booking-overview link in these measurement events. Our GA4 event-data retention setting is 14 months. User identifiers have a 14-month retention period that restarts with new activity; standard aggregated reports are not subject to this event-data setting. See Google’s privacy policy.
If you accept marketing measurement, we remember approved advertising-source, campaign and creative codes in your browser tab for up to 30 minutes. If you send a request while this choice is active, those codes and the time of your consent are stored with the request so we can evaluate which advertising brought enquiries. This source information follows the retention of the request described above, unless removed earlier following a valid request.
When TikTok measurement is enabled and you have accepted marketing, the TikTok Pixel measures public-page visits and received requests to help us assess our advertising. TikTok may receive browser and device information, your IP address, a public page address, a referral source, advertising click identifiers and cookie identifiers. We do not send booking-form contact details or free-text messages to TikTok. A request is identified by a pseudonymous code to help avoid counting the same event twice; it is not a payment or confirmed booking. TikTok can use its own identifiers to associate an event with its services. See TikTok’s privacy policy.
When Meta measurement is enabled and you have accepted marketing, the Meta Pixel measures public-page visits and received booking requests to help us assess our Facebook and Instagram advertising. Meta may receive browser and device information, your IP address, a public page address, a referral source, advertising click identifiers and cookie identifiers. We do not send booking-form contact details, exact stay dates or free-text messages in our Meta events, and we do not enable advanced matching or automatic form events. A request uses a pseudonymous event code to reduce duplicate counting; it does not represent a payment or confirmed booking. Meta may associate events with its services using its own identifiers. See Meta’s privacy policy.
Withdrawing a choice stops subsequent measurement for that purpose. We remove applicable first-party measurement cookies and session measurement data where the browser permits this. Withdrawal does not undo processing that already took place while your consent was active. Google, TikTok and Meta also apply their own privacy and retention policies to data they receive.
